"Victorious Kidss Educares provided its students with an opportunity to participate in an Open Ideation Test called InnoVenture. InnoVenture, a workshop initiated by Intelligence plus, is India’s first Ideation and Entrepreneurship Challenge for children aged 9- 14 years. The open test was evaluated and a few students were selected based on their creative, logical and collaborative efforts. These selected students then attended a training session outside school and were prepared to face the final challenge. The aim behind this workshop was to enhance creativity and innovation that is inherent among young children, and train them to become world leaders and entrepreneurs. InnoVenture nurtured 21st century skills through a world-class after school program that helped children apply their knowledge and skills to real life situations.
The final challenge of InnoVenture was held on Sunday, the 6th of December 2015 at Vishwakarma Institute of Technology College. Forty four (44) students from Victorious Kidss Educares participated in this challenge amongst twenty thousand (20,000) students from fifty (50) schools in Pune. "Victorious Kidss Educares has partnered with a renewable energy firm - Shekdar International, to install a 51 KWp rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system which will supply electricity to the school for twenty-five (25) years. Victorious Kidss Educares, is possibly the first International Baccalaureate (IB) school, in the country to install such a system. The solar plant will generate nearly 75,000 units of electricity every year. Shekdar International will supply this electricity to the school at a cost lower, than the tariff of the state electricity distribution company, giving the school significant cost savings in electricity bills.
The PV plant is a grid-tied system which synchronises itself with the mains supply and if that is not available, with the back-up generator. It ensures that solar power is used on a priority and any power requirement in excess of the solar plant’s capacity is drawn from the state grid or the generator. It is a completely automatic system requiring no manual intervention. All the switching between solar power and regular power is managed automatically by a smart electronic controller. The plant is state-of-the-art and can be monitored remotely through internet access.
"Victorious Kidss Educares school, in keeping with its IB curriculum and Vedantic philosophy of holistic education, has implemented this system not only as a cost saving initiative, but also as a project which will save more than seventy (70) tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. This is equivalent to planting over 325 trees every year. This project demonstrates to its students, faculty and parents, the school’s strong commitment towards society and environment protection. It will help inculcate in its students an awareness about environment and renewable energy. It is also the school’s way of contributing towards the ambitious targets of the National Solar Mission defined by our Honourable Prime Minister.”
How apt is this quote by Lao Tzu for the entire PYP journey of the very bright and extremely talented students of the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) school, Victorious Kidss Educares. The grand and much-awaited event that sums up this journey and celebrates the accomplishments of these budding youngsters is the PYP 5 Exhibition. It not only commemorates the Graduation Ceremony but it also marks the beginning of the MYP (Middle Year Programme.)
The year 2015-16 was a roller coaster ride for our PYP 5 students as they encountered novel experiences, exciting field trips to educational sites, tons of hands-on activities and project based learning. The culmination of the entire PYP journey is marked by the Exhibition; which is an assessment of the understanding and performance of the child throughout his/her Primary Years. It is here that we as teachers, mentors, guides and facilitators withdraw the scaffolding and encourage students to take decisions independently and apply all their learning practically and fearlessly.
The Exhibition theme for this year is “Sharing the Planet”. The students thoroughly observed their surroundings and investigated the issues that have a direct impact on them as the future inheritors of Earth. Following long discussions they came up with the Central Idea: “Every human action affects the planet.” They chose to explore this huge topic under three sub-topics: Pollution, Population and Resources. After studying details of causes and effects as well as the inter-dependence of these three major concerns, it was time for Action; which is the outcome of every Inquiry Cycle in the IB philosophy.
The creativity and innovation of our students produced many working models of efficient remedial measures, charts depicting important information and Action Stations with hands-on experimentations. But most of all, students are very excited with their “Best out of Waste” project which is their brainchild. They have invited parents and guests to collect and submit used plastic bottles representing the three R’s of Reduce, Recycle and Reuse. In return for this, saplings will be handed out to them as a gesture of a new hope for building a better future for Mother Earth. Also the pledge that the students have taken for contributing towards the betterment of mankind is a determined effort to change mere words into Action.
It is rightly said that at the end of every journey there begins a new journey. As our fledglings spread their wings and prepare to take flight, we feel proud to watch them turn into confident, independent and enthusiastic IB Learners who have embedded in their personalities, a scientific inquiring spirit as well as the deep-rooted Vedantic philosophy of our esteemed school.
Our school, Victorious Kidss Educares had received an invitation to participate in the open Abacus and Vedic Mathematics Competition held on 24th January, 2016. We, at VKE, had an amazing number of ninety seven (97) participants for the district level competition. Rigorous practice sessions started in school right from the month of December 2015 upto the date of the competition. Students enthusiastically and wholeheartedly practised at home for the full session, including during the precious free time of Christmas holidays. All the dedicated efforts of our students, along with the encouragement from parents and guidance from the teachers culminated in numerous laurels for VKE. Amongst the talented students, from all over Maharashtra, braving the rigours of the tough competition, VKE children stood out by bagging a total of twenty two (22) prizes. It is one more jewel added to the VKE crown of victories.
Once again, our children have proven their worth and had emerged Victorious. We are so very proud of their achievements!

My daughter Sai Akhil Agate has won the Second prize in IntelligentPlus Innoventure competition level one conducted by IntelligentPlus, Pune. This was the competition to check the thinking ability which may help the society in future. She is nine (9) year old and we found it a very innovative idea to channelize kid’s skills from this age.
I would like to express my gratitude towards Victorious Kidss Educares for enhancing the skills of my daughter, thinking ability and confidence level to participate in such a big competition and stand in front of 2500 kids, who had come down to participate, from all other schools. My family and I are always thankful to the school to see my daughter stand in front of people and can express her thoughts with confidence and with doable logical solutions.
“Victorious Kidss Educares believes in that when there is a great mother, there would aways be a great kid. In our teaching and learning pedagogy, we have therefore, intense interactions with parents and monthly parental workshops. VKE witnesses another great mother and has once again succeeded in sustaining creations of life-long learners and budding champions by its unique process of ‘teaching and learning’ through the concept of Vedanta, coupled with Inquiry based learning of International Baccalaureate (IB). Along with strengthening students academics, we also work towards their all-round character development. We help them enhance their technical, musical, athletic and leadership skills through various class activities and workshops. One of our students has made us proud by implying what she has been motivated by her mother and sincerely learned at school.
Running is one of the best fitness regimen of all times and helps the body to remain healthy along with helping to build endurance. Kids feel a sense of achievement when they finish running. Taking this mantra to a new level is a student from Victorious Kidss Educares, Nia Gathani from PYP 5B who has taken a great liking to running the five (5) kms Marathons. Nia has completed running the five (5) kms in only thirty five (35) minutes. She is extremely enthusiastic about running at different marathons and is very proud after completing the race. She has already completed five (5) Marathons in only two (2) months and wishes to keep running at every marathon held in the city. She has taken part in the following marathons held in Pune:

Once again, the stand alone processes of 'teaching and learning' through the concept of Vedanta, coupled with Inquiry based learning and differentiated classroom environment of International Baccalaureate (IB), has taken one of our child to, where most children dared to tread. Along with strengthening Math skills, the approach promotes whole brain development and establishes foundational building blocks like memory, concentration, creativity and face life with effortless attitude to problem solving

Our Principal, Saarada Ghosh has been conferred the 'BEST DISTRICT PRINCIPAL AWARD FOR THE YEAR 2014-15'. "Our school is all the more noteworthy, since during this academic year, over 31500 schools from more than 1400 cities and 19 countries registered for the Olympiads and millions of students appeared in them".
Born in a poverty stricken family in the South, Dr Abdul Kalam struggled hard and fought valiantly, in his early childhood, to receive truly a very high level of education. Became a great scientist and received, amongst many, the highest honour to a civilian, the 'Bharat Ratna' award. The entire staff and students of Victorious Kidss Educares observed a 'two minutes' silence in the morning assembly today, to pay homage to the soul of former President APJ Abdul Kalam (11th President of India from 2002 to 2007), the missile man who became popular as 'People's President'. His demise, even though untimely and sudden, indicated that even till the last moment of his life, he was working and motivating, the teachers, students and people of India. His death is an immense loss to our country.
He was a guide, motivator, a philosopher and an inspiration for the youth of our nation. He was a great President and a brilliant scientist. He was equally conversant with Koran and Bhagavad Gita. He truly brought spirituality, morality, sincerity and commitment in work. He received many awards for his great achievements. We all have lots to learn from him.
Personal Project (PP) is an extended, independent piece of project work completed by each student in the final year of the MYP (Middle Years Programme). The Personal project encourages students to demonstrate their ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills, consolidate prior and subject-specific knowledge and develop an area of personal interest. Personal projects revolves around a challenge that motivates and interests individual students. These projects help students to develop the attributes of the IB learner profile and foster the development of independent, lifelong learners.
This year all students of MYP 5 completed their personal project with great enthusiasm and dedication. Our students actively developed their topics from their areas of interest. Project topics were creative and research-based and most important they reflected student's personal interest. Through the use of a process journal, the supervisors provided guidance to the students throughout the PP process. To celebrate the end of the PP process, the school hosted a Personal Project Exhibition on 24th April, 2015 which was attended by the parents, Supervisors, Co-ordinators and the Head of the school. It was appreciated by one and all present on that occasion.
Victorious Kidss Educares, in the leading daily newspaper 'Pune Times' of Times of India Group, on Sunday the 26th of April 2015. 'Exploring Education Beyond Classrooms' (Page 34 in e-paper)
VKE has tied up,with one of the top International Budhrani Group, towards spreading this concept of Vedantic education coupled with the latest of IB and opening new branches of VKE in India as well as abroad.
Today was not an ordinary day like I have every day; I had a mind blowing day and an amazing experience. I was a part of a professional art workshop which was held in Pune. In the beginning I was a little confused and worried about what to paint and then I finally decided to do something that I'm good, my wire work. Due to this workshop I was able to understand my strengths and weakness and got a chance to showcase my talent too. My painting was simple but yet unique, I had texture background which I created through red colour and in middle I had one big maple leaf made with cycle spokes and copper wire. My theme was encouraging the nature towards life. As the cycle spokes are strong to bend I had a bit difficulty with that. I was inspired to do this painting because there are so many different types and shapes of leaves in nature which we don't acknowledge. That's what I wanted to showcase and I was able to achieve my target. I hope I keep getting such chances to showcase my talent and hope to improve.
Student Saloni Dhoot Reflection (DP-1)
Wow, today was phenomenal. I still cannot believe I completed a painting in just a day. Thanks to this art workshop, I discovered my capabilities. I discovered I was capable enough to do so much more than I thought I could do; manage my time efficiently, plan everything, utilize my skills to their extremities, and finally pass on a message to my community.
It was a whole new experience. I always breathed on the concept of artists painting for a reason, but today I learned the importance of that concept. And it felt so peaceful, almost like attaining inner peace. It felt different and exceedingly satisfying.
This workshop gave me the opportunity to break out of my comfort zone, which is what every artist looks for. I painted a semi-realistic piece. I always keep running away from realistic styles because it's one of my greatest weaknesses. Today, I am sure I empowered it.
I used this chance to paint and to pass on a message: "it's time we begin, we've had enough with this discrimination! We need to start noticing." My painting revolved around this one quote, "Everybody sees, but only one notices'" and my motive of making this painting was to make everyone notice, so we can join the fight and watch the world bloom out of it's problems. It's not only about discrimination, its also about corruption and all the other problems that block our way towards peace and prosperity. I am thrilled for I successfully (I hope) contributed my bit.

This is a school which looks into not only the mind but also the soul of a child. The needs of each individual child is different, is unique in itself. This system of education has undertaken the herculean task of “ not repeating “the same pattern for each child .In this system of education ,each child is given the knowledge that he or she has great potential, they get the great assurance that elders and teachers do not think of them as being inferior to anyone in any way. It is this innate strength that will help the child to grow.
Once the child feels proud of himself or herself, half the battle is won. There is no fear which will restrain them, hence they will grow fearlessly. Positive thinking propels a child forward. Swami Vivekananda spoke of “man-making”, it is wonderful to see the tiny tots slowly forming a fearless ,inquisitive mind which is blooming into a fragrant flower. We have almost forgotten that growing-up should be full of joy, free of all kinds of inhibitions. The freedom from back-breaking ,drudgery of monotonous study material is a welcome change.
My heartfelt admiration and wholehearted appreciation for the innovative , creative, fresh approach to learning being used here. Swapna Majumdar

Judging an international art competition is an unlimited experience all together. Getting selected as a jury member for an international art competition, where number of children participants are seventy two lakhs (72,00,000), brings more and more responsibilities of taking care of those lakhs of emotions, which are presented in visual form by the little and the teens future of tomorrow. A jury is expected to have an expert vision who can notice even the smallest visual expression or the emotions painted through colours, be knowledgeable, be well aware of the child’s, student’s and an artist’s psychology, emotions and ways of communication, be able to view and judge from multiple perspectives, be impartial with no biases, be persistent while judging and be able to make decisions with open mind.
Mother Saraswati has blessed me with abundance of artistic qualities and skills that I have been percolating down to these children and artists with mother’s blessings. It’s the Divine blessings of God & Babaji that my students are doing extremely well in the field of visual arts. I train my students to be different rather than being just good. I guide them to be themselves; yet be creative, innovative, aesthetically pleasing and let people notice their differentness. There is no boundary for my students, in terms of art mediums that they can’t use in any respective age or there is no art work that they can’t do. The freedom and encouragement that I provide them is the most loving zone for them to feel confident. I respect the creative mind and differentness of every child because they are the one who will bring revolution in the current visual culture. It is very important to let their individuality take its own shape with the richness of past history, its knowledge and an effective vision of better tomorrow. My students are introduced to all those master techniques in early schooling which can only be taught in higher education.
I have got a shining feather and an HOD stamp of a very well reputed, one of the school out of two complete IB World school’s in Pune city, named ‘Victorious Kidss Educares’ – ‘A School With A Difference’. This school is way different than other schools across the country, which brings the Ancient Vedantic education coupled with the latest of Western Science; taught to our children, so that they become holistically knowledgeable and open minded. We guide them to become the best example of 10 IB learner profile Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-Takers, Balanced, and Reflective. We conduct art exhibitions twice a year. Our students participate in international competitions and workshops that provide them all artistic exposure.
I had a great experience to judge the grand finale round of the international “Camel Art Contest” which was held at Mumbai regional office. I got a chance to see the art practices that are happening all around India and the world. The competition was really tough which made me feel delighted about the level of art, children and their dedication towards arts.
I am thankful to Mother, God and Babaji for blessing all these children with so much of artistic skills and love for art.
Vishwajeet, HOD Arts department, has received a letter of special invitation, from Mr. Achin Kumar Jha, SAT Manager of Kokuyo Camlin Ltd.,to be a jury member for the largest Camel art competition of India (2015). The final judgments will take place in Mumbai on 4th of February 2015.
Nancy Nameirakpam Ma'am, teacher of PYP I E has prepared an 'Origami'. 'Origami' comes from the word 'Ori' mean 'folding' and 'Gami' meaning 'paper'. It is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with the Japanese culture. In modern usage, the word 'Origami' is used as an inclusive term for all folding practices, regardless of their culture of origin. The goal is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. Modern origami practitioners generally discourage the use of cuts, glue or markings on the paper. Origami folders often use the Japanese word 'kirigami' to refer to design which use cuts, although cutting is more characteristic of Chinese paper crafts. The types of Origami are Action, Modular, Wet folding, Pureland, Kirigami and Tessalations.

On behalf of the entire VKE fraternity, we congratulate all our students for their brilliant performance and bringing home the laurels and accolades.
There was tremendous display of great team-manship and good characters. Just as they have been guided on the lines of student's profile of being caring, sympathetic leadership, great risk takers, highly principled, etc. Each and every one played their roles, as they should have. In the Junior Boys team, Kaif Kutchwala and in the Junior Girls team Shrutika Gupta stood out with their performances. It was, as if they were possessed for perfection and gave their heart and life for the name and fame of the school. Both played like the great soccer masters, Pele and Roberto Carlos, in their respective matches and the team went ahead and brought laurels. The other players showed brilliant display, have also been placed with their ranking, names and the medals won. The badminton team played against the MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School – Team A, in the final, after having won the semi-finals against the hosting school, MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul School – Team B. Karan, Vedant and Advait, played brilliantly, to bring in three (3) Gold Medals. One could see the brilliant display of stroke and stamina in all three (3). However, Karan and Vedant stood out with their performance and one could see that they have been really practising. One could similarly see the effort of Neil Gaikwad's hard work. He was the winner of the Gold in the backstroke and a bronze in the free style swimming.

New Research Finds IB Middle Years Students to be Self-Aware, Resilient, and Engaged in School
Findings from exploratory study suggest IB Middle Years Programme has a positive impact on students’ social-emotional well-being
Singapore, August 13 Increasing amounts of research continue to support what educators have long recognized: social and emotional health plays a key role in determining students’ social and academic outcomes, not only in schooling but also later in life. In a new study conducted by Flinders University, researchers explored this issue by studying the well-being of students, ages 11-16 in Australia, who were enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme(MYP), an educational framework in which social emotional learning plays a significant role.
In this particular study, researchers examined students’ social-emotional well-being using three different scales to assess student self-perceptions of their mental health. The researchers found:
Message from a DP Student for Youth Social Service Day
Dear Parents and Students, I am Ritika Saykar, an IB Diploma student at Victorious Kidss Educares. I believe, our school has always initiated projects that make people aware of the global issues, connecting them to our local situations and ways to change and act accordingly. The CAS week celebrations have come to an end, but continue your little gestures of kindness to make the world a better place. As most of you might know, our population comprises of majority of youth. At the peak of their lives, where career and education is prioritized, they have to channelize their energy and time as such that they can also play their role as a citizen of the global society and contribute to the developing era. I am honored to be one of the UN Youth Ambassadors in Pune and have taken an initiative of feeding the hungry, in association with one of the most socially active youth team APD (Action for Pune Development). I would appreciate your support to help me make this campaign a success. For contributing in the project, you may choose to donate a few grams of grains (Yellow Dal), which will then, be donated to the homeless and underprivileged citizens of the city.
Safety & Security Standards for The Children of Our School The Largest IB World School In Pune
Dear Parents, As you read this message, please accept love and warm Greetings from Victorious Kidss Educares. The recent unfortunate incidents, in some cities, involving the safety and security of school going children, being a matter of deep concern, has been drawing our attention. And as a school, keeping in view of the gravity of these incidents, we have worked out certain procedures, so as to implement, higher standards of safety and of security of the school. The aim of this message now, through the media of website and the face book, is to remove the anxiety and worries, from the minds of the parent. From the onset of the Kharadi complex, we had laid down very high standards for security and safety of kids of VKE. These processes however, just like at home, or in the workplace, must remain as continuous ongoing processes and all of us must stay away from complacency. Though we at VKE have a reasonable and strong system as regards to security and safety of our school children, yet keeping in view of the present developments, we have strengthened further and have tied up, even with the Police, Education & RTO Department of The State. Should you, as you go through these ideas and action plans, get any more ideas, want to recommend for inclusion, and further strengthen the plans, please write or contact us?
A. Chief Administrative Officer
B. PTA Member
C. Police Representative
D. RTO Representative
E. Education Department Representative
F. Bus Contractors Representative
G. Representative of an NGO
This committee would be the watchdog to monitor and guide the school management in matters related to security and safety of the students using the outsourced transport. 6. School floor coordinators are keeping a look out all the time. Every floor and the toilets are manned by house keeping staff. The Core Team is taking rounds and supervising, inspecting continuously. In addition, maids attend every classroom. There are more than 240 teachers; senior members like the Administrative Team, Home Room Teachers, the Grade Level Coordinators, the HODs, Program Coordinators, the Principal are continuously monitoring the classrooms and the floors. While these measures are physical, so called of the ‘earthly real world’ and yet we must not keep thinking (be unduly worried) about it, as your children are, by the blessings of God and Babaji, in very safe ambience. It is good, as per ancient philosophy of Vedanta, to be concerned and take necessary corrective measures. However, do not allow it to rule your mind and make you get worried. Because a worried mind, meditates on the negative aspects of life. And there by pre-empts, the same negative thing, which you worry about? We, as the parents, as the seniors, as the teachers, need to remove worries, from our mind, we tend to do the most. Because this worry is, nothing but meditating on the negative aspects of life and paying attention to those negative activities; which we do not want in our life. The golden rule from Vedanta is, “What ever you pay attention to, would increase”.
Therefore we need to pay attention to, visualize and expect those good things, we cherish the most. We need to see the good qualities in our children, healthy environment around us and in our society, in our homes. Those good thoughts for the safe, peaceful, secured ambience around us, would increase and become more prominent. Sure, when you are concerned about something, take corrective actions, and plan well. God’s support would be there, even more. We cannot, of course, ever be complacent. And yet we must not worry and see only the negative things. Unknowingly, we would only invite those things, in our life. We certainly, should take notice of those negative areas, in our life, around us and take necessary corrective actions. Have unshakable faith in God and our Great Masters. Know that we are, our children are ‘The Children Of God’ and ‘The Divine Grace’ is protecting our school and us all the time. A Booklet on ‘Health & Safety Policy Of The School’ would soon be made and distributed to the parents and in the website, laying down responsibilities of the school and guidelines for the parent.
On 6th of August 2014, from the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Mr. Sudhakar Vishwanath and his team had visited our school, to understand the philosophy of VKE and had a tour of the school campus. I have attached their positive feedback and reply written to us, after their visit.
"Warm greetings and best wishes from Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Pune.
