International Yoga Day 2017

“Through Yoga, You Discover The Secret Power And Divinity From Within”

Yoga is an age-old practice of the infinite spirit, which is within us to our soul. In the initial stages, it is uniting the mind, body and spirit, which originated in ancient India over six thousand (6000) years ago. In the recent years, Yoga has spread far and wide, considering its numerous benefits which include instilling peace, poise, strength, balance, integrity and happiness. Yoga is the art of practicing a range of techniques, including postures, breathing exercises, relaxation, concentration, self-inquiry and meditation. These practices help to get connected with the tremendous hidden power from within. This is an intense practice for the overall well-being of every individual. 21 June, being the longest day of the year in most of the parts of the world, was decided as Yoga day. The first International day of Yoga was celebrated on 21 June 2015 and the world supported this idea of International Day of Yoga.

On this International Yoga Day, the Indian Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modiji led a mass of enthusiastic participants in Lucknow. We, at Victorious Kidss Educares, an International Baccalaureate (IB) World school, couple the latest of Western Science of ‘Teaching & Learning’, along with the rich Vedantic philosophy of regulating meditation and yoga on a basis with our students. The celebration of ‘World Yoga Day’ is thus inseparably significant and is inclined to our teachings. We celebrated this day with a flexing Yoga session, led by the Physical Education (P.E.) team which was diligently followed by the teachers and other staff. Various siting and standing asanas were performed. By the end of the session, everyone felt energetically charged to begin their day at work. This inspired them to practice yoga more often amidst their other chores and otherwise busy schedules.
