Subject: IB Education

Student should be encouraged "How to learn" instead of "What to learn" where the IB education system seems to focus on. It’s now well known that the course content for the students in India has become very heavy and it doesn't fulfil the present requirement as well.

Government and all the concerned should come forward to promote the better education system. It should also be made sure that the quality education becomes right to every student. It should be within easy reach, for rich as well as not so rich people.

Subject: IB Schools

I am an IB student and am quite familiar with what the IB wants a student to learn. Basically IB is the ultimate form of education at this point over the whole world. First of all, it teaches a student how to think, not memorize. Of course, memorization is also a part of it to a little extent. Although being a DP candidate is challenging due to the work pressure, it is all worth it, because the first year of university is going to be a piece of cake. IB also offers you a wider range of academics which will enable one to choose a subject based on the person's interests. Researching university style is going to be a normal routine, something that always helps in further life. Most importantly IB teaches a student how to distinguish from propaganda, knowledge claim, scientific truth and also enhances the student to understand the limitation of each study through the ToK course. The interpretative and analytical skills of one would also be strengthened. A prejudice that science and maths is superior in the Indian education is untrue, since maths and science at HL courses are if not even more challenging than that offered in ISC. The world is open for any IB student.

"As an educator, I have been so impressed with the manner in which the IB program has served to develop the critical-thinking skills of my students."

Steven Bligh McNutt, The Korea Times, 18 March 2008.
