Guru Nanak Jayanti 2021

“If the people use the wealth bestowed on them by God for themselves alone or for treasuring it, it is like a corpse. But if they decide to share it with others, it becomes sacred food.” – Guru Nanak

This Guru Nanak Jayanti, may we imbibe one of the 3 main teachings of Guru Nanak Ji in our lives ~ the tenet of ‘Vand Chakko’ ~ ‘Selflessly serving others’. May the beloved Guru Nanak Ji endow upon us, the spirit of ‘Giving’, and guide us on a path of selflessness. May he enlighten our heart and mind with truth, love, and service. Along with may he bless us for purity, sanctity, and knowledge. Happy Guru Nanak Jayanti!

Children’s Day 2021

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, or as fondly known, Chacha Nehru once said, “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country,”. Today, as we celebrate the Children’s Day as also Pandit Nehru’s birthday, we reflect upon this simple yet powerful statement. The make or break of a nation indeed depends on the upbringing of its children. In fact, there is no better gauge of a society’s strength than the way it treats its children. Chacha Nehru had always placed a large emphasis on the education of the children of our country, and he played a pivotal role in the establishment of several top tier educational institutes in the country. Such was his love towards children.

Happy Diwali

The festival of Diwali is a reminder to us, as one monk from Himalayas says, “We have been thrown in to jail of Samsara ~ which is ‘Separation and the cause of all sufferings! The festival of Diwali is also a reminder to us to share, to give! Whatever we desire for ourselves ~ be it love, knowledge, name, fame or even money, we, as per rich guidance of our Rishis of Vedanta; we have to give it first. And not just give, but also to know within and understand, realise, view it as that, it is an opportunity. It is a great boon to us, that we could give and are in the act of giving ~ can give. It is humbling thought. We are to give with our head bowed down and not ~ give with some pride. Read More

Happy Dussehra

The greatest Indian epic ~ the Mahabharata. Why was it that Krishna helped Arjuna? Why didn’t he talk to Duryodhana? He could have certainly avoided the violence by helping Duryodhana reform. So why didn’t Krishna teach Duryodhana? Well, Krishna did talk! Before Krishna approached Arjuna, he went to talk to Duryodhana and told him that what he was doing is Adharma and he should follow the path of Dharma. You would be interested to know of Duryodhana’s response. He said, “I know what is right, I know that what I am doing is wrong. I just feel like doing it. I know I am like that, but I can’t stop myself from doing it. I act as I am directed to by some mysterious power that is seated in my heart”. Isn’t this a fact, the case with most of us today.

We are blessed that our children Aafiya and Rahin Somani have had the good fortune of studying at VKE. The school has been a home away from home and guided them at every step of their academic journey. The emphasis on Vedanta principles along with world class IB education have moulded our children to be international minded students with Indian values. Read More

International Women's Day 2021

Wishing a Happy Women’s Day to all the incredible and dynamic women who we love and adore, who have shaped and raised us to be where we are! Here’s to all the Divine Women ~ the real superheroes.  Our special Shraddha (respect) goes to our Mothers, who had sacrificed so much, for us to have a better life. They worked silently, suffered silently, never complained about their sorrows, or their desires, nor about their sufferings. They only had ‘dreams’, and we are the product of those ‘dreams’. Proud to be Part of Victorious Family

“It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change”- Charles Darwin.

“The enormous scare and anxiety caused by COVID-19 in mind of parents & students was short lived as each person of Victorious family stood together in this period of adversity and turned the things around towards the good.
