Why is it Amazing to be an Underdog? ~ By Arjun Raj

Our champion, Arjun Raj from PYP 5D, has very thoughtfully penned down a blog article. Let us read and find out why he thinks it’s amazing to be an underdog?

“Underdogs rejoice – why is it amazing to be an underdog? So first let me tell you what an underdog is. An underdog is when people expect you to lose, you can say it’s underestimating your capability. So, let me give you 3 reasons why it’s amazing to be an underdog. People expect you to lose but you tell them that “I will not give up”. The crowd sees that the opponent is stronger than you. So, keep them thinking that way. Let them keep cheering for your opponent, after a while they see the real you. Then you tell them “Surprised!! I am better than you think I am”. Read More

Collaborative Planning with Parents

Where there is teamwork and collaboration,
Wonderful things can be achieved.

A new initiative by the Primary Years Programme and Early Years Programme was undertaken where we invited parents to participate in the unit planning process in order to build parent agency and strengthen the learning community. Parents joined us and gave us their ideas regarding what learning engagements we can take with the students. They also came up with suggestions about field trips and volunteered to search for relevant guest lecturers regarding the next topic.

IB MYP Topper – Anoushka Shetty

By IB Education No Comments

The Topper scoring 55/56 in the MYP 5 (10th Grade) Result

“I began today absolutely terrified. Last evening, I had found out that the MYP-5 results are out. After frantic messaging and emailing, as well as lots of prayers, I came to school with my legs shaking and my heart racing. I knew I did well, but I was still unsure. Maybe my formula was wrong in the math paper, or maybe I didn’t spend enough time writing my English Analysis. These uncertainties ate me up for the rest of the day until I got my results. I was no longer sure of my work. The only thing that I was 100% conscious of, was my efforts. The exams and the E-Portfolios that I submitted was a culmination of my learning from the past 5 years. I spent countless hours learning & revising, diving into the deep content that the MYP offers. I knew that the number out of 56 does not define my character, but the time, dedication and constant effort is what makes me who I am. Read More

Content-Based Education vs Conceptual Learning

By Educating in a better way, IB Education, VKE Philosophy No Comments

What do you want for your child?
A Content-Based Education or Conceptual Learning?

“Education is the manifestation of perfection already exists in men” that is what Swami Vivekananda is referring to all of us as the search begin, for the teachers and management of schools to discover, what are those characteristics of ‘perfection’? Swamiji expected us to search and establish, implant the mindfulness firmly in the consciousness, attentiveness in the heart of teachers to guide our future generation.
Which learning or education should be taken up for your child to prepare them for the future? Should it be a content-based education which fulfils our merit or should it be the conceptual learning like the IB curriculum offers us that imparts a real understanding?  What is Education and how one shall acquire this in the competitive world like today; where everyone is searching for the real solution as how to be the race to become better and the best. But in the chase of life and asking for a lot from it, somewhere we are completely missing out the real values of education and learning to develop our individual perception of acquiring knowledge. Creating Learning Experiences

By Educating in a better way, IB Education, VKE Philosophy No Comments

“Education, education, education ~
Educate and raise the masses, thus alone a Nation is possible”
-Swami Vivekananda

Creating Learning Experiences 1Victorious Kidss Educares (VKE), an IB World School, believes that ‘discovering the ‘Infinite Power’, hidden within every child, is schooling, is parenting’. In this journey, however, the child needs help from Parents, grandparents, teachers and fellow travellers destined to assist and travel with the child; till the mission of their life is fulfilled. That limitless potentials of human children are getting lost, for lack of data inputs, information, educational standards, practices and knowledge, of what to do, staying hidden from the parents. ‘Being gifted, ‘says Dr. Neil Harvey (Dean of Institute for Developing the Human Potential, PA, USA’), is primarily a product of the environment and by that current definition, the level of intelligence can easily be reached by nearly every child.” Read More

Digital Moderation and Responsibility

Being a 21st-century citizen is quite challenging in today’s ecosystem, where technology is inherently plugged into almost every human life. Where everyone, from Governments and MNCs to grocery stores and taxis, primarily operate and transact ‘Online’, with effortless and carefree ease. Witnessing the other side of the world has become easier than ever and all kinds of foods and utilities can be delivered to the doorstep. And of course, like the other side of a coin, it has brought upon the world, various adversities which are affecting our millennials psychologically and physically. Compulsive use of social media, obsessive gaming and ‘binge-watching’ due to the overflowing content strewed by the internet, to name a few.
In recent years, as we all know, many schools have enhanced their teaching and learning styles with contemporary gadgets and software to develop better ways of imparting knowledge. And fortunately, knowing about the above-mentioned issues and threats, many parents doubt this change in our education system and hold westernisation as the direct cause of all these issues.

Early Childhood Development

Why Early Childhood Development is Important?

“The potential possibilities of any child are the most
intriguing and stimulating in all creations.”

The potential for giftedness or a high level of intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual development begins very early in a child’s life. In ancient India and subsequently, in the modern Western World, the time to begin, exchanging, feeding data awareness has started from the moment, a ‘mother realizes ~ that she is going to be a ‘mother’. Recent research confirms that the first six (6) years are essential and extremely important for the development of the child’s brain (Glenn Doman ~ How to Multiply Your Baby’s Intelligence).

World famous Buckminster Fuller states that, “All children are born genius and we spend the first 6 years of their life de-geniusing them.”  ~ Within which, the first two years are the most critical ~ (British Psychologist, Tony Buzan). Tony Buzan goes on to say that, “At the moment a child is born it’s already truly brilliant. It picks up languages, much better than a doctor of philosophy in any subject, in only two years. And it is a master at it by three or four”.  Read More
