PYP 5 Students of Victorious Kidss Educares Showcase Their Creative and Artistic Talents at the Exhibition

The day of the 25th of February 2023, dawned as usual. Only, there was anything but usual about the day. It was the day of the PYP Exhibition at Victorious Kidss Educares. Everything about this important day was super special – a culmination of a learning journey full of passion, hardwork and heartfelt endeavours of our champions of Grade 5.
The PYP 5 Exhibition celebrates the amazing journey of IB PYP learners. This collaborative event becomes the centre-stage of a PYP 5 student at Victorious Kidss Educares. Our champs here participate in this completely student-led project with full enthusiasm and energy. With access to a plethora of resources and opportunities, the students put dedicated time and effort into the Exhibition process. They are guided by mentors and teachers, and the parental community is actively involved as well.
For our champions of PYP 5, the PYP Exhibition is the ultimate platform where they demonstrate and share their passion, skills and knowledge on ideas and issues that are closest to their hearts. This year, our theme was ‘100 languages’ – an amalgamation of the ways in which we express ourselves. Under the theme ‘How we express ourselves’, our students explored a variety of artforms ranging from music, dance and drama to digital art, photography, visual arts and sculpting. In their quest to find creative fulfilment, they inquired into different artforms and researched how some revolutionary artists from a wide variety of backgrounds, are becoming the flagbearers of our rich heritage, and pioneering changemakers of the future. While our students stood out as ambassadors for upholding these legacies, they also used their skills, knowledge and experiences about their chosen artforms to try and make a real difference in the world.
The Exhibition day was well planned with a lot of attention to detail, which made the event a grand success and absolutely flawless! It was also the Graduation Day for our students which made it even more memorable. It began with the students from PYP 4 welcoming the audience with a heartwarming fusion-dance performance and an enchanting choir, impressing us all with their talent and perfect coordination. The highlight of the event was a Panel discussion on ‘Empowering Artists of the Future’, organised by the students of PYP 5 with much enthusiasm. It featured some eminent personalities who were invited to talk about the significance of artforms in today’s world. The distinguished Panel consisted of accomplished artists such as Mr. Randhir Khare, a poet and a dramatist; Sarod maestro Pandit Shekhar Borkar; Ms. Aziza Degwekar a dancer and teacher; Ms. Vaishali Kulkarni a story-teller and theatre-facilitator. It was an open forum for discussion with these experts who shared their personal experiences and words of wisdom with our learning community and eagerly answered questions about how artforms are shaping the 21st century world. This live interaction added a lot of weightage to what the students were doing for their exhibition. It took artforms to a whole new level and broadened the perspective of teachers, students and parents alike.
This year Exhibition was presented in a unique format comprising of Presentations, Workshops and Performances. The entire school joined in the celebration with striking graffities and vibrant decorations in the hallways and corridors, that spoke volumes about the artistic talent and creativity of our budding young artists. The workshops were conducted by the students themselves for members of the learning community who had pre-registered for the same based on their choice and aptitude for various arts. These skill-based workshops were designed to teach and engage the participants in exploring the artform and learning new techniques related to it. It was immensely delightful to watch students turn into teachers and facilitators who conducted the sessions using inquiry and hands-on activities. Apart from the workshops, the students also found a keen audience in parents and peers, who wanted to listen to the process of the Exhibition, through the Presentations of their learning journeys. Vivid displays, 3D models, original student works, charts and interactive graphics, enraptured the observers and captured their imaginations.
Taking active action on their learning, the students had chosen to apply the skills they had honed, by addressing local and global issues taken from the Sustainable Development Goals. So while the Sculpture group, put out stunning life-size models of aquatic animals, highlighting the plight of Life under water, the Visual Arts group of students explored the issues of Hunger and Poverty and displayed heart touching canvases of artwork that simply took the breathes away of our visitors. The students from the Digital Arts had some genius tricks up their sleeves with which they wowed their audience, imparting some valuable lessons on Sustainable living. At the same time, the Photography students presented a realistic depiction of Life on land, captured through their lenses. Not to be left behind, the performing artists put up a gallant show of foot-tapping music and scintillating dance and drama performances, highlighting issues related to Equality and Climate change. The lyrics and music were self-composed by the students and they had collaborated on an epic scale to make this special performance successful. By the end of it all, the audience was feeling the vibes and swayed on with the singers, dancers and actors.
The Exhibition was so gallant, awe-inspiring and lively that it garnered boundless admiration, love and cheer from the entire learning community who came to partake in the event. The reflections of the visitors – our parents, guests, teachers, mentors and other art-enthusiasts, were full of praise for our champs which has further motivated our promising musicians, creators, dancers and writers. As we envision a beautiful new world that speaks 100 different languages with acceptance and love, our budding leaders of the 21st century will continue to strive towards making the world a better place to live in.
The PYP Exhibition at Victorious Kidss Educares was an unforgettable experience that showcased the artistic talent and creativity of the school’s students. It demonstrated how the students’ passion, skills, and knowledge can create a positive impact on the world, and how art forms can be a powerful tool for advocacy and change. The exhibition was a testament to the school’s commitment to providing a well-rounded education that prepares students to become responsible global citizens.
