Guru Nanak Jayanti

“If the people use the wealth bestowed on them by God for themselves alone or for treasuring it, it is like a corpse. But if they decide to share it with others, it becomes sacred food.” – Guru Nanak

This Guru Nanak Jayanti, may we imbibe one of the 3 main teachings of Guru Nanak Ji in our lives ~ the tenet of ‘Vand Chakko’ ~ ‘Selflessly serving others’. May the beloved Guru Nanak Ji endow upon us, the spirit of ‘Giving’, and guide us on a path of selflessness. May he enlighten our heart and mind with truth, love, and service. Along with may he bless us for purity, sanctity, and knowledge. Happy Guru Nanak Jayanti!

Children’s Day

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, or as fondly known, Chacha Nehru once said, “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country,”. Today, as we celebrate the Children’s Day as also Pandit Nehru’s birthday, we reflect upon this simple yet powerful statement. The make or break of a nation indeed depends on the upbringing of its children. In fact, there is no better gauge of a society’s strength than the way it treats its children. Chacha Nehru had always placed a large emphasis on the education of the children of our country, and he played a pivotal role in the establishment of several top tier educational institutes in the country. Such was his love towards children.

Happy Diwali

The festival of Diwali is a reminder to us, as one monk from Himalayas says, “We have been thrown in to jail of Samsara ~ which is ‘Separation and the cause of all sufferings! The festival of Diwali is also a reminder to us to share, to give! Whatever we desire for ourselves ~ be it love, knowledge, name, fame or even money, we, as per rich guidance of our Rishis of Vedanta; we have to give it first. And not just give, but also to know within and understand, realise, view it as that, it is an opportunity. It is a great boon to us, that we could give and are in the act of giving ~ can give. It is humbling thought. We are to give with our head bowed down and not ~ give with some pride. Read More

Before Krishna approached Arjuna, he went to talk to Duryodhana and told him that what he was doing is Adharma and he should follow the path of Dharma. 10 Ultimate Benefits of Pursuing IB

Every person reading this page has learning styles, that were not suited to their school styles. Tagore, Einstein, Churchill, Edison, Isaac Newton had learning styles, that were not suited to their school styles. And the same mismatch continues today, for millions of others. Every parent aspires to bring in an education, for their children to better the life for their child, make it more meaningful, with happier than their own ambience. The 21st century parents want their child to grow up as women and men of the world, not just intellectually but also want to concentrate on their holistic development and prepare them to thrive in an increasingly globalized, people and tech savvy challenging world.

Academic education alone is not enough because it deeply underestimates what our kids now, can do. It is a fundamental error to think, if we just improve their academic contents and perhaps add a few other skills, such as a sport, a language, art or chess or flying skills, all will be well. That is a mistake. We need to empower our kids further to exercise their own brain potential and thinking ~ creative and critical, to sustain and face the world. Read More
